South Korean Traditions
South Korea is know for being a very traditional country and loves appreciating its past
Here is a short list of South Korean Traditions.
;
- Language: In Korea they use different forms of words depending on who you are talking to whether it be a stranger
a friend or an adult you would not tlak to any of these people the same way unless told to do so by the person
themselves
- Age: In Korea they calculate the age differently lets say you were born December 6th 1980 you would be
turning 36 this year per th Western Calander but in korea you would be 1 (or sometimes 2) years older than you are due
to them counting the year you were in your mothers stomach
- Table Manners: In korea before you start eating your meal the men are supposed to start before the women.
Also the eldest of the group or family must eat first(at lot of people have fun with this rule to see how long their
“dongsangs” will wait
- Shoes: As in most Asian countries it is considered extremly rude to walk into someones house wearing your
shoes you will most likely be considered very rude and be looked down upon
- Lastly Talk: In South Korea people are very straight forward they are not afraid to comment on things like
weight (whether you gained or lost it) also in buisness you must know them socially before you can do buisness with
them
